Beit East Interchange
Eastern Section Development – New Connection Road to Herzog Street
A large-scale infrastructure project forming part of the continuation of Road 16, involving the construction of a new connection road linking the Gershon Shaked / Bezalel Bazak junction to Herzog Street.
The new road includes two lanes in each direction, a pedestrian sidewalk, and a continuous bicycle path along its northern side — designed to integrate smoothly with the surrounding urban environment.
As part of the works, Herzog Street is being widened westward toward the Botanical Garden to form a new junction that will connect with the new Bezalel Bazak Road.
The total road length is approximately 360 meters, including about 150 meters constructed over the Botanical Garden on a dual bridge system (north and south bridges).
The project also includes construction of an eastern portal to the Beit Parking Lot, conversion of the existing Bezalel Bazak Road into a bicycle path and promenade, and upgrades to the Bezalel Bazak / Zalman Shneour intersection.
Complementary works include advanced drainage and stream regulation systems, retaining and acoustic walls, lighting, water and sewage infrastructure, utility relocations, and high-quality public space development.
